Why a lender asked for more documents

Typed requests, what they mean, and how to answer them.

Once your request is with a lender, they may ask for a specific document rather than a general one, this is a typed request, and it shows up as a clear checklist item on your account instead of a vague message.

What can be requested

  • Bank statements (last six months)
  • Management accounts (profit and loss, balance sheet)
  • A debt schedule (your current loans and finance agreements)
  • An aged debtors report
  • Filed statutory accounts
  • Proof of identity
  • Anything else specific to your request

How it moves

Each item has a simple status: Needed, then Received once you have uploaded it, then Sent to your lender once we have forwarded it on. Occasionally an item is marked Not needed if the lender no longer requires it.

Uploading against a request

Upload directly against the checklist item and it is routed to the right place automatically, no need to email anything or guess which lender asked. It is the same secure upload used for the general bank-statement slot, just pointed at the specific item.

See Uploading bank statements for the upload mechanics, and file types and limits.
